Support the Just Demands of the All India Loco Running Staff of the Indian Railways!

Brothers and Sisters,
The All India Loco Running Staff Association representing more than 1 Lakh engine drivers of the Indian Railways is holding its National Convention in Mumbai on the 31st of August 2010. Mumbai was chosen since it was in this city that the heroic motormen struck work on May 3rd and 4th 2010 to protest their terrible working conditions. This two day strike completely paralysed the city and showed to the entire country the might of the united motormen of Mumbai.

Workers including of the Viva Global Factory, including women were brutally beaten up with hockey sticks and lathis by goons called in by the Management of Viva Global, the Gurgaon based sweatshop apparel house. The incident happened this morning between 9:30 and 10:00 AM when workers were to enter the premises of the Factory, as part of a tripartite agreement between the Management of Viva Global, the Labour Department and the Garment and Allied Workers Union (GAWU).

A Successful Event on the Occasion of the 63rd Independence Year of India, Organized by LRS

Days before 26th January 2010, the motormen had given a notice about a one day strike. This was done in accordance with the laws of the country. At that time, the government had promised that it would immediately start discussion on the demands of the motormen. This was why the motormen called off their strike on 26th January.
