The majority of Indian people have neither secure livelihood nor the power to do anything about their miserable conditions of life. They are not treated as human beings. They are humiliated and oppressed on the basis of caste, gender, class, race, religion and nationality.

The recent UK elections and the wheelings and dealings after that gave a feeling of déjà vu for us in India.  The election results led to a hung parliament with no one party getting a majority. The Conservatives got 306 seats but not enough to form a government of their own.

  2. On elections [the necessity to participate and to expose the system, as well as to put forth alternative]
  3. On the onslaught by monopolies / finance capital on livelihood of workers, peasants and middle strata.
  4. On the building and strengthening of Lok Raj Samitis / Sangharsh Samitis / Ward Samitis
  5. On the importance of work amongst workers, peasants, women and youth
  6. On the importance of strengthening the Ghadar Jaari Hai Abhiyan.
  7. On working to establish friendship between the people of the subcontinent.

All-India Council meeting of LRS deliberates on key issues of political process

LRSlogo.gifThe All India Council of the Lok Raj Sangathan held its plenary meeting on May 6, 2007 in Thane, Maharashtra. The meeting was presided over by Justice Hosbet Suresh, President of Lok Raj Sangathan. Apart from the members of the AIC of the Lok Raj Sangathan, two observers from Bangladesh as well as three activists from different organisations working amongst the people in Maharashtra had been specially invited to attend the meeting as observers. On behalf of the AIC, Dr Sanjeevani Jain welcomed all the members and observers to the meeting. She then called upon Prakash Rao, Convenor of the Lok Raj Sangathan, to present the report of the activity of the AIC in the period since its last meeting, that is since October 15, 2006.
